I think the advantage of the naturopathic medicine approach is that it is about the individual. I had a conversation with the President of a medical college that was raving about a past alumnus making a lot of money and having six associates working for him.
Their approach is a cookie cutter approach to weight loss that every client is put on. Additionally there is a "recruiting" approach to get new clients and get them on the program. The approach I am told is similar to what is used to recruit church members.
It would have made a lot more money if I had run my practice like or choose to run it like that now. It is more profitable and more efficient to run things like that.
It is also less interesting, less inspiring, and less effective and provides less of a chance for connection with people . . . and for that reason it will never be the way that I choose to work with my patients.
